How much does a custom piece cost?

2

This is dependent on the size and complexity of the piece, which we can discuss.

However, you can expect that a typical, single subject 12×16” custom piece will cost around $1100, with additional cost for size and complexity. Additional fees for shipping and insurance will also be added and discussed, so that your piece arrives safely!

What can I commission?

I am very collaborative with commissions, and open to discussing subject matter, but:

1) The piece must be in my style. You can generally expect baroque tenebrism in my pieces.

2) While I do need reference images, I do not make 1:1 photographic copies and we will work together to make your piece original, whether that’s simply changing out a background, or creating a custom composition.

3) I reserve the right to turn down any subject matter that is not a good fit.

4) As my focus is typically on human emotion and exploration, I only take pet portraits on a very selective basis.

What is your typical timeline?

TYPICAL TIMELINE:

1) Contact me via the form to discuss subject matter, size, and pricing.

2) Secure your spot with a 50% non-refundable deposit.

3) I create digital sketches, and we work together to finalize the composition.

4) I draw and paint your piece, sharing major progress updates along the way.

5) I send high-resolution photos of the completed painting for your final approval.

6) Remaining balance and shipping costs are paid.

7) Your artwork is carefully packaged and shipped!

Painting time typically is dependent on the size and complexity of the piece.

I will remain in contact with updates throughout the process and creation of your piece.

What is your revision policy?

I include up to 3 revisions during the initial composition/sketch phase to ensure you are happy with the direction of your piece before I pick up a brush. Once painting begins, major structural changes or redesigns will incur additional fees.

How much does shipping cost?

6

Shipping rates can vary depending on size of piece, and should be calculated upon checkout. For commissions, shipping costs can range from $20-$60 for domestic (US) orders, with added cost for pieces over 16 inches. International is dependent on country, but can range from $50-$100 on standard sized pieces. Additional insurance on pieces over $100 will also be added to cost.

I typically ship via USPS.

Are returns accepted?

Due to the delicate nature of original artwork, all sales are final.

What if my piece is damaged or stolen
in transit?

8

All original artworks are fully insured during transit. In the rare event that an issue occurs:

If damaged: Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the damaged artwork and the outer packaging. Please keep all original packing materials and boxes, as the carrier may require a physical inspection to process the claim. Once verified, I will initiate an insurance claim and work with you directly on a replacement commission or refund.

If lost or stolen: Original works over $300 are shipped with Signature Required to ensure safe delivery and prevent theft. If a package is marked lost in transit by the carrier, an insurance claim will be filed immediately to resolve the issue.

What about copyright?

The client purchases the physical artwork for personal display. The artist retains all reproduction and copyright rights unless a commercial license is explicitly purchased.

Unless you communicate that you wish for your commission to remain private, I reserve the right to post painting content around your commission.
